after school Jason and I surprised the boys by packing a snack & drinks and took them to the park. it was such a beautiful day!
after playing in the park we headed out for a nature walk.
then back to the park for a little more fun….

Jason wanted to take the boys fishing, so we went to a local park that has a big pond. it was a great day, not too cold or warm…. and a great day for fishing!

believe it or not we have never had an actual ‘playdate’…. we have had parties and met up at gymboree before but never ‘Hey can your child come play at our house’ kind of playdate. sounds awful I guess, but honestly Peyton and Jayden play so well together we never really thought about inviting anyone over just to play, until now! Peyton’s friend, Payne has been talking to Peyton about a playdate so we thought we would have him over during Christmas break. we walked to the park after playing at our house a little while. they had a lot of fun!

the weather has been beautiful so Jayden and i spent the morning at the park. ever since he was a baby he has LOVED the swings, but they made him a little sick so he could never spend too much time on them. but that seems to have changed now…. Yay!
Jayden also loved climbing and exploring everything!

we walked the boys to the park so they could ride their bikes on the trails. both of them looked so big riding up and down the paths. Peyton made a point to say Hi to everyone he passed.
a meeting of the minds on if they want to go play at the park, or go home and get in the hot tub…. (the hot tub won).
Jayden was done riding…. obviously.
this morning i took the boys to the $ store to pick up a few crafts and things we needed. i let them both pick out one thing (big spender, i know.) Peyton picked out a fishing net and Jayden found a ‘shooter’ (the boys word for a gun).
Jayden wasn’t having pictures today (‘me not’)…. so i got one with Peyton and his new net.

Jason and I used to work together at the same elementary school, and whenever we take Peyton and Jayden to the school where we used to work it takes me back to when we first became friends. it really feels like yesterday when Jason and I would be out there all day teaching kids…. not knowing someday we would have 2 little boys of our own playing on the same playground.
in all honesty if someone would have told us back then we would be where we are today TOGETHER, we would have thought they were crazy!
but, once we realized it…. there was no turning back, and as cheesy as it sounds, i really feel like we were meant to be together & to have these two little boys.
God is soooo good!
the flowers are few lately. fall is definitely setting in.
