Mother’s Day, 2012

I had such a great Mother’s Day…. it started with Starbucks and candy bars (from the boys), and a few gifts cards too! we went to the early service at church, then to Rio Mambo for lunch.

and it wouldn’t be a true Mother’s Day without seeing my Mom (Bunny). I love you Mom! Happy Mother’s Day!

duck, duck, bunny!

a few months ago I started talking to Jason about getting a bunny…. it started out as a little joke, but once I started really looking into it my bunny obsession grew. I went on Craig’s List just to see if there were any Holland Lop Bunnies in this area, turns out there was a breeder just down the street from my parent’s house. so one day while Peyton was in school, me, Jayden, and my mom went to see them. at the time I had NO IDEA I would walk out of there owning a bunny! (I called Jason while we were there, just to make sure it was ok with him too!) I didn’t know if the one I picked out was a boy or girl…. I just fell in love with it, gave them money to ‘hold’ him until he was old enough to take home. I took a few instagram pictures while we were there…. he is about 3 weeks in these pictures.

I kept in touch with the breeders weekly until our bunny was ready to come home. The boys had NO idea we were getting a bunny. Jayden was with me the day I bought it but was so involved with playing with their two ducklings, he had no idea what I was doing. the day our bunny was ready, Jason told Peyton I was going to pick him up from school early for a surprise. Peyton and Jayden were so excited! They had no idea where we were going, or what we were doing until we parked in front of the house where the bunnies were. Jayden recognized the house and said ‘Oh I know what we doing! We seeing bunnies today!’ that’s when I told them we get to take one home. The boy’s reactions were so great! they were grinning from ear to ear!

when we got ‘Ranger’ (it’s a boy!) home I let the boys hold him. we also let Ranger hop around the house a little. I found out later that wood floors and tile aren’t good for little bunny legs to jump on, so now every time we get him out of his cage we put an old rug or blanket down for him. We also got our SuperYard down from the attic. finally another use for our baby gates!

the next day when we woke up Ranger was so excited to see us. he jumped around his cage like crazy. at first I thought something was wrong with him, but we found out when bunnies do that, it means they are happy. we set up the Super Yard in the backyard and let Ranger get some energy out. again, he was so happy and curious to what was going on.

all of us took turns getting in the Super Yard with him to let him get used to us.

I can’t believe how fast Peyton’s Tball season went! Today was his last game. It was a lot of fun.

Peyton played pitcher again…. Love the pretend throw!

Peyton not only got his medal and t-shirt, he also got another game ball for his two triples. Yay Peyton!

Peyton was so happy to see Keith, Lisa, Jason, Callie, and Brandon after the game. Such a great surprise for them to come to his game!

the boys finally got over the bug they had…. it felt like it took forever, but we made it through. we celebrated by stopping by Krispy Kreme on the way to Bunny & Poppy’s house.

I am so glad they have their appetites back!

we got a couple of ‘to go’ donuts for Bunny & Poppy too!

The Beast

on Wednesday we were enjoying the pool, playing outside. Everyone was having fun….

then on Thursday at 6:00am it happened…. Jayden woke us up to tell us he had thrown up. He got sick on the floor, right next to his bed. He spent the rest of the day sicker than anything. Poor thing threw up every 20 minutes, and had diarrhea. I am sure you are thrilled with knowing all of this!

Jayden went from getting sick, to sleeping, to finally getting some energy back later in the day.

Friday morning I knew it wasn’t over yet. He woke up and looked miserable, and ended up throwing up again.

By Sunday Jayden was feeling a little better…. (Except for the diarrhea. Ugh!) Then Peyton started throwing up. He only got sick a couple of times so it didn’t seem to be as bad as Jayden, although Peyton did look and act really wimpy all day. I was praying he would be able to go to school on Monday. It was his field trip to the zoo. I think I was more sad than he was when he woke up throwing up in his bed at 2:45am Monday morning. we knew the Zoo just wasn’t going to happen. He had been looking forward to it for months! I was so sad for him. I promised him as soon as we were all feeling better we would do something really fun to make up for missing the field trip. This virus or whatever it is, is horrible!

as I was typing this earlier Jayden went to the bathroom, and it was BAD. So, I called CareNow and we went in to see what, if anything, Jayden was trying to fight. After taking some blood and a lot of tears, a stool sample kit, and $140 later we came home with two gloves made into balloons, and some advice to ‘just see if it passes and if not take him to the ER’.

Easter | Part 2

the night before Easter, Peyton and Jayden set out snacks for the Easter Bunny. the favorites this year were celery, carrots, a cupcake, one of our Pinterest nests, and strawberry yogurt. (Jayden’s favorite).

Peyton came into our room on Easter morning saying ‘Mommy, Daddy, I think the Easter Bunny was here!’ he went in to wake up Jayden and both of them found a note on the coffee table…. then the fun started!

Jayden found ‘Easter Bunny Angry Birds’, and Peyton found the movie Hop!

both of them got new tshirts…. and found new cross necklaces in the ‘Golden Egg’.

Peyton fell in love with his new stuffed bunny, and Jayden LOVES his new Angry Bird game!

the Easter Bunny also left bunny tracks in the living room…. the boys loved them!

after breakfast we got dressed and headed outside for the Easter Egg Hunt in the front yard….

then the backyard!!!!

it was so much fun watching them!

Easter, part 1

our church had their Easter Egg hunt and a couple of early services the day before Easter. we really enjoyed the early service last year that followed the egg hunt, so we thought we would do the same thing this year.

Peyton and Jayden were excited to get to the Easter Egg hunt!

The Easter Bunny! (Jayden: ‘Mommy he not the real one because he not ‘kalk’ to me.’ I tried to explain that maybe the Easter Bunny was shy or scared, but Jayden wasn’t buying it.

a nice lady took our picture for us…. she must have seen us trading the camera to take pictures with the boys. a family photo! this never happens!

and off they go…. they are getting so big!

Easter Eggs!

every year we color eggs for the Easter Bunny. I am so thankful the weather was nice! I love when we can color eggs outside. this year I found an idea from Pinterest, coloring eggs with Kool Aid!

Peyton and Jayden worked so hard and our Easter Eggs look great! The Easter Bunny is going to LOVE them!

Jayden had been talking about getting a cactus for a few days, so I took him to buy one…. he also picked one out for Peyton. (Red, because it is Peyton’s favorite color).
