We didn’t have the best weather for spring break this year, but at least it wasn’t snowing. The rain held off at least for a few days.
We went on the family mission trip with our church again this year. We helped local elderly people with their yards. The man we helped was so sweet and the family we were working with was great too. Lots of boys!
Over spring break Jason is super busy with catching up on his yards…. everyone wants their yard done as soon as spring hits. Which is great for business but can get a little lonely for me and the boys.
What boy doesn’t like a backyard campsite?
Once the rain came, Jason and I decided to get started on the master bath…. It is long overdue for a makeover so Jason being the man he is, decided to take on the job himself…. We have all moved into the boys Jack & Jill bathroom. (This should be fun). I will update with pictures of our bathroom as we move on, but for now this is what is going on and it is not pretty. Be warned. This.is.gross.
When we moved in the master bath was the only room that was not updated. It has brass, awful marble, and white tile… all bad. Once Jason started tearing out he found mold behind the shower walls. We weren’t surprised by the mold. Our house is over 20 years old. We were told it’s pretty normal, but still. Not fun to see.
and (close your eyes) a huge termite mound behind the half wall in the shower. No termites were found but it’s gross anyway.
This is where we are now,
Bathtub is next to go, so is the rest of the shower, the floors, pretty much all of it. We will be putting in french doors at some point. I need to keep my mind on how it’s going to look when we’re done because right now the whole thing just stresses me out.
By the end of the week we were SO over the rain and bathroom. Jason surprised us by planning a day trip to our favorite waterfall park. It was raining in Dallas, but Waco had clear skies! I was so excited for the boys to see our new favorite spot! I knew before the day was over at least one of them would be jumping in!
Two boys and a duck ready to roll….
Family road trip selfie with a ducky photobomb!
We stopped at Junque in the Trunk for a little while. LOVE this place! Cutest antiques ever!
A new sign for the kitchen.
And finally, we made it to Takwana Falls!
their world | week forty eight
A little bit of fishing. Peyton caught two!
and finally he just had to get in….. (Im so glad I brought extra clothes for both of them!)
Both boys ended up jumping in a few times. Im not sure why I don’t have pictures of Jayden swimming. Both of them loved it, and it was cold!
After Peyton and Jayden dried off and changed clothes. We went to dinner on the river. An awesome way to end the day!
