Lexi needed a headshot for her drama class and asked if I could help. She was so cute and sweet!

it was that time again…. the dreaded ‘well check’ appointment. i remember when they were babies i looked forward to finding out what the dr had to say about my little boys, but now i kinda know they are fine…. growing like they should, eating everything, and a lot of it! so the whole trip to the pediatrician feels more like work than anything else. i had to let Jayden skip his nap and get Peyton out of school early just to get there on time. the trip is about 20 minutes so i had a movie and drinks packed up for the ride…. also hoping Jayden wouldn’t get carsick. (he didn’t! yay!)
of course to the boys everything is an adventure so we took our time and made the best of it…. like they always do.
ahh the waiting room, where germs just wait to jump on the next kid who walks in the door.

and then the holding tank…. waiting for the pediatrician to come in. Jayden took it upon himself to ‘play doctor’.

both boys did great. Jayden had a hearing test, which he passed and he also had to get 4 shots. poor thing. i always feel so bad when we have to lay him on the table for the nurse to give him shots in his thighs. i put my face next to his and tell him how much i love him and we counted to 20. it was over fast but not without a few tears. he won’t have to get anymore shots until he is 7 or 8. (im not sure, i wasn’t really listening at that point. i was just ready to get out of there!)
once we got home the boys were ready to swim and forget about their busy afternoon.

cheers to two great well checks and to swimming with Gpa!

while Peyton is at school Jayden keeps me pretty entertained throughout the day. this never gets old.

Jayden started sleeping with a pillow this week. which is probably odd to hear, but in the past he always pushed it aside ‘me don’t want me pillow’. but all of a sudden this week he is all over it. i don’t think i can count how many times i have climbed into bed with Peyton or Jayden since they have gotten their big boy beds.

Jayden’s letter of the week. ‘C’ is for crab and chameleon.

the weather has been beautiful so Jayden and i spent the morning at the park. ever since he was a baby he has LOVED the swings, but they made him a little sick so he could never spend too much time on them. but that seems to have changed now…. Yay!

Jayden also loved climbing and exploring everything!

and then back to the park, to swing, ONE MORE TIME!

summer has been really hot, which isn’t unusual for Texas but this summer it just seemed hotter and dryer than ever. i usually don’t complain about the heat but I was ready for cooler weather along with everyone else. just when we thought it was never going to cool down, we woke up to beautiful weather this morning. Jason and I took our coffee outside and let the boys play by the pool for a little while. it was so cool out both of them asked for long sleeves and pj pants.
the wind from the front knocked down three of our banana trees. Peyton and Jayden found their tool box and went to work on the trees for us.
