i sent out Jayden’s birthday party invitations about a week ago. we are having a small party in our backyard…. swimming, games, hot dogs, and cake. what more could a little boy ask for!
his invitations turned out cute (excuse the bad scan job). i also had these two pictures printed and will frame them for his party.

boy talk by the pool.
one of many I am sure.
Jayden will be 4 this weekend. it is crazy how fast 4 years have gone! his 4 year pictures were fun for both of us. he’s an angel.

every once in awhile all of us load up into the car and take a drive to the lake. we didn’t have a plan today…. just drive, get some food on the way, and see what Gvine lake has to offer. while we were there we found the campground that we have been wanting to see. the boys loved feeding the ducks, and the cabins were so cute! we will definitely make reservations once the weather cools down.

the night before the 4th we surprised the boys by taking them to see fireworks. we found a spot on a hill and sat in the bed of Jason’s truck.

the next day we got the pool and house ready for friends and family to come over. Jason made a shark watermelon and i made cakepops. it was a fun party…. and believe it or not i didnt take ANY pictures.

hope all of you had a great one!

it’s easy to tell when Peyton doesnt feel well, he snuggles a lot more than usual…. even by the pool. poor thing had strep. ugh!

the first day of VBS is just a blur to me. probably because Jason was with me and i was trying to be the mom that could just drop her kids off, kiss them goodbye without making a fuss. well, i put on a good act…. but the second day was a different story. Jason had to work, so i did things a little different. i hung out a little longer, and showed up early to pick them up. which turns out, is pretty much how the rest of the week went. i actually had a VBS teacher ask me if i worked there.
by the second day Jayden walked right in and started playing.

i love the chef hats they made! (and the macaroni necklace, apron, beach bag, and other crafts they came home with!)

Peyton was having a blast when i showed up early….

and i found Jayden in chapel with his class….

i love how Peyton got up from his seat to say hi to Jayden as chapel was being dismissed! the teachers and helpers told me how much the boys loved running into each other during the day. so great!

by the last day it was easier for all of us. Peyton and Jayden were running into class and barely noticing me leave. it was good for all of us, but i am happy to have them home now.
i loved seeing Jayden walk with his class! all of the kids held onto a rope, to help keep them in line. so cute!

there were so many fun things going on. i was really impressed and LOVE how much the boys enjoyed everything!

Jason and i taught Michael, one helper’s in Jayden’s class, when we worked at OCT together and now he is helping teach our kids at VBS! he is a sophomore in HS now, and was so great with Peyton and Jayden all week.
Thank you Michael!

and thank you FUMC!

a great, great week!
