walking into VBS, with their mission money in hand

the boys were so excited this morning to go to VBS. it will be for a week at Peyton’s pre-school.

i was really nervous to leave Jayden this morning, this was my first time dropping him off anywhere and actually leaving the building. (i knew Peyton would be fine). honestly, if it wasn’t for Jason pretty much holding my hand the entire time i probably would have cried all the way home. we went to breakfast and had a great morning, but i would be lying if i said i didnt think about the boys the whole 3.5 hours they were gone. it was so great to see Jayden’s face light up when i went in his room to get him! he loved his class btw…. he asked: ‘me go back tommow?’.
once Jason installed the floors and built the bunk bed, Jayden’s new room started to come together. the boys had fun helping….

Jayden also has a new desk and dresser, but they’re not as fun as the bunk bed…. obviously. (the desk in the picture above isn’t the new one…. we are still in the process of moving the old stuff out).

we have decided on a pirate theme…. any suggestions where to start looking? Jayden is SO ready for his room to be finished!

ok maybe I’m not 29 (or even close), but i did have a good birthday with my guys this morning, and this afternoon i took Peyton to a birthday party at Great Wolf Lodge. we had a great time! we have never been when the outdoor pool and slides were open so it made it even better! Peyton and i had a lot of fun riding the waterslides together. i dont know who screamed louder!
when we got home Jason had a glass of wine and sushi waiting…. such a good guy!

Happy Birthday Me!
GOTCHA AGAIN!

Happy Birthday Bunny! We love you!

(from your chicks, grandchicks, and puppychicks!)
it’s probably way past time to do this but we finally bought big boy furniture for Jayden. for awhile i couldn’t decide between a full bed, twin, or a bunk bed. i was also having a rough time with deciding which room would be Jayden’s ‘new’ room…. but we finally decided to give him the bigger room and making his ‘nursery’ (yes he is still sleeping in a crib!) the guest bedroom. Jayden’s new room has a jack & jill bath, which connects to Peyton’s room.
so with all of the decision making done and the new bunk bed, dresser, and desk. it was time to clear out the new room and make it officially Jaydens! we asked him what color he wanted his room to be and his answer: ‘Lellow! Me love lellow!’…. so if the boy wants yellow, then yellow it is!
Jayden got to paint first, and while he was napping i let Peyton help. the old paint was light green. the reason the colors look so different is because one picture was taken in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Peyton obviously had fun with the paint, and wasn’t real happy when we had to paint over it.

once the carpet was removed we let the boys color on the foundation before the new floors were installed.

Peyton did most of the coloring while Jayden walked around screaming ‘ECHO!’ concrete floors are fun for 3 year olds.
Peyton drew the best Mickey Mouse! if i could have peeled it off the floor and hung it on the wall i would have! it was adorable!

markers & crayons: $7.00
paint for a new big boy room: $40.00
ripping out the carpet and letting them color on the foundation before new floors are installed: priceless!
Jason is such a good father, one day of celebrating him just doesnt seem like enough. i love that Peyton and Jayden have such a great roll model to look up to!

the boys made Jason cards and Peyton also had a couple of things he made at pre-school…. he has been waiting to give them to him since the last day of school.

Happy Father’s Day Daddy!

and Grandpa!

and Poppy! (Peyton and I went to Poppy’s house this afternoon while Jayden was napping). This is one of my favorite pictures…. my Dad and I on my wedding day, April 10th, 2004.
