time for hours of swimming, not watching the clock, and eating outside.

time for water guns, heart shaped leaves as coasters (thank you Peyton), and racing in the pool.

i love summer….

who needs car shows when you can find cool cars everywhere you go! no matter where we go the boys always seem to find cars they love in parking lots or even driving down the road. all i hear from the back seat is ‘wow did you see that one?’ or ‘that one’s mine!’ a few days ago while shopping for outdoor furniture we stopped into World Market…. before we got out of the car the boys were excited about the cars that were parked next to us. i had my camera with me, so we took a couple of pictures of them. (i love their serious ‘cool car’ pose!)

a few days later in another parking lot Peyton found another car he loved. it’s never ending!

then a stop at Garden Ridge….

recliners for kids! too cute!
Jason won 4 tickets to a Ranger game and gave them to Peyton for his pre-school graduation gift. the boys were thrilled to see the Rangers play again. there really is something about taking your sons to a baseball game!

we headed straight for the Cuervo club as soon as we got inside and luckily got a great table!

our seats were great as well!

as american as cheetos…. wait, what?

the boys loved seeing the players and the field, although Jayden got a little tired as we were about to leave.

both boys passed out on the way home….

when we got home Jason filled up the rafts Peyton and Jayden got today. a busy, but super fun day for all of us!

ever since Peyton was a newborn I have been taking him to Jason’s field day to watch him do his thing, and here we are 5 years later and I am not only still taking Peyton to field day, but Jayden as well. it is all in fun and I am pretty sure the boys love it as much as Jason and I do. it is so much fun to see all of the kids running around, playing games, and competing for those blue, red, and white ribbons ever year while they (and their teachers & parents) sweat like crazy in the Texas heat. oh the things we do for our kids!
just a few of the games we watched today….
The Shoe Kick!

The Sack Race!

and, The Distance Run (kindergarten)!

next year will be our first field day cheering on as parents! Go Peyton!

Peyton’s friend Ava had an end of the year party at her apartment today. it was so much fun for all of the kids, and for the moms too!

Peyton and Ava in the hot tub. they stayed right beside each other all day. it was so sweet!

such a great group of kids! we are going to miss all of them.

summer has begun,
and the floaties are ready to come off.
wow where has the time gone? Peyton started pre-school when he was barely 3 yrs old. at the time i wasn’t aware we really could have waited another year to enroll him since he has a late August birthday. but he made the age cut off, so off to pre-school he went. i was so nervous, but i bought him a new backpack and some new school clothes and hoped we were making the right decision. Jason and I explained as much as we could to Peyton what he would be doing for three hours a day without mommy by his side…. Peyton seemed fine with it. he just nodded his head like ‘ok mommy i get it’ and went on his way. when pre-school started he not only loved it, he grew, made friends, brought home papers & artwork, and learned how to write his name. i couldn’t wait to pick him up…. i am pretty sure i was the first mom in line waiting for dismissal every day. i loved seeing his little face with all of his new friends and getting home to find a backpack full of arts and crafts. i hung his artwork all over the house. i was, I AM, so proud!

so here we are, on your last day of pre-school. you are more than ready for kindergarten. you know your letters and numbers like no ones business. there is no holding back…. you are so ready!
the theme for the party today was ‘Luau’. you were SO EXCITED to dress up and see your friends. you even wore your own lei today. this morning you ate pancakes, got dressed, got your backpack ready, and all of us headed out the door for your last day of pre-school.
(thank you for being so patient while i took pictures of you this morning!)
one on the front porch….

and a few outside of pre-school.

and then off you went…. a big boy now.

i hate to admit it, but i teared up a little driving home this morning. i didnt realize how much i would end up loving this school, and all of Peyton’s teachers. it has been a great three years, with lots of great memories, and it has flown by.
Peyton’s luau party was really cute and so much fun for everyone. it was a great way to end the school year.

Peyton is going to miss all of his friends so much…. (Ava, the little girl he married in the play kitchen this year).

it was so fun to watch all of them!

and one last group picture…. a great group of kids and teachers too!

goodbye CLC! we will miss you!
the weather was so crazy tonight. we had rain, hail, wind and sirens going off. it was exciting, but at the same time pretty scary. there have been so many reports of tornadoes on the news lately that i was afraid we were going to be next. i even made sure everyone knew which bathroom we were all going to pile into if we needed to. surprisingly i only took one picture…. Jayden holding a couple pieces of hail from our yard. there were bigger ones too!

i was so glad when it was over!
Peyton came to me this afternoon and told me his loose tooth hurt, when i looked at it, it was hanging by a thread. i was so excited for him and told him to find Daddy. Peyton did SO well! i expected him to be a little wimpy, but once we all sat down in the playroom together and Jason put floss in his mouth, the tooth came out and Peyton smiled from ear to ear. it was so sweet, he was so proud!
we went outside to take a picture, and when we came in for a minute Peyton found a small gift from the tooth fairy already. it was a note and a ‘fairy door’ that he could hang anywhere he wanted, (thank you Bunny!) and a box he could keep his tooth in if he didn’t want to put it under his pillow.

he hung the door outside by all of the tooth fairy stuff he and Jayden have been finding in the yard.

he also wrote a note, and circled his tooth….

by the end of the night Peyton decided he wanted to leave his tooth next to his bed in the box the tooth fairy gave him. he also left a rose for her.

the next morning Peyton woke up to find three dollars in coins (he was hoping for some coins), 2 dollar bills, and a fire truck in the box. he was so excited! he ran into our room to tell us about it. so great!
ready for Fun in the Sun day at pre-school…. and a rose for his PE teacher!
