there is something about these that remind me of being little, playing in my parent’s yard, long summers, my sisters and my brother.

if i could go back for just one day….

so far spring has made up for (what felt like) days and days stuck inside from all of the ‘winter blasts’ we had a few months ago. but with spring, you get allergies which does not mix well with two little boys who seem to get the crud whenever the wind blows…. but it doesn’t slow them down much, they still run and play from the minute they wake up until the minute they go to sleep.

in the past month both boys have taken their turns on the couch with the nebulizer. i am thankful they arent sick and haven’t run high fevers, but i sure wish their coughs would get better! it seems like it is hitting Jayden the hardest right now. he was coughing so much the other night that i brought him to our bed for a little while. poor thing could not catch his breath. i was so worried!

(they are LOVING their Vtech games and learning so much from them thank you Bunny and Poppy! i love learning games for kids! it is a GREAT distraction for them while they are hooked up to the nebulizer for 20 minutes at a time.)
a few weeks a go i took Peyton to the doctor thinking he may have a virus, but apparently i have been doing everything i can to help him and it should clear up on its own. so basically i paid $50 for a pat on the back.
so we continue to play, and breathe springtime air!

hopin’ down the bunny trail….
they have grown so much in one year!

whenever Jason says he is going to mow, the boys run to the garage to get their bubble mowers and follow him around the yard….

but eventually the mowers get put aside….
for climbing,

running,

(no matter how many pair of rainboots i buy Peyton, he ALWAYS comes back to these…. and Jayden won’t part with ANYTHING that has Buzz Lightyear on it!)
hanging with mommy,

and finding crawly things.

after the Saturday night service at church we came home and let the boys get in the hot tub. tonight was the night for the ‘super moon’ so all of us were looking forward to seeing it come up over the trees.

finally the sun started to set….

and there it was!

later after everyone was asleep i went outside to see it again.

beautiful.
rain jackets,

and big boy winks.

a few days ago Bunny came over with another one of her cute creations for the boys to wear…. this time it was for St. Patty’s Day! this morning i gave the boys their shirts and hats and let them do what they wanted for their pictures. Peyton and Jayden always seem to find a way to make me laugh. apparently looking tough on St. Patrick’s Day was the way to go.

{Photo-A-Week-Project: A personal project that I will undertake for the entire year, taking one photo a week of my children.}

spring has sprung!
since Peyton and Jayden loved it so much AND because they were asking ALL MORNING…. i took them for Krispy Kreme again. although i had my camera with me, i kept it in my bag and just enjoyed doughnuts with my boys. all of us could totally get used to this much sugar every morning, but i am pretty sure once Daddy gets back in town we are going to have to give up Krispy Kreme for awhile. i asked Peyton and Jayden where they wanted to go after doughnuts and believe it or not they said ‘southlake’. i may or may not have put that idea in their heads yesterday, but whatever…. if the boys want to go to Southlake Town Square then lets go!
we had fun walking around and checking out all of the shops. the boys especially liked looking at all of the cars parked up and down the street. Jayden insisted i take a picture in front of the ‘lellow’ one. i was hoping the owner of this car didnt see him touching it! Peyton and Jayden came up with this pose themselves…. Jayden said ‘me want to do it like dis’ and leaned on it and of course Peyton wanted to lean on it too…. i couldnt help but laugh. my boys the car models.

and of course we had to make a wish in the fountain and, like every child in Town Square, play in and around the fountain. it was a beautiful day so it was nice to just sit down and take it all in.

the next morning we went to the library, then spent the afternoon in the backyard. the weather has been so great all week. our pool isn’t quite ready for swimming yet…. and the water is WAY too cold right now, so after Peyton and Jayden’s afternoon snack of mandarin oranges, i filled up the water table and found the sprinkler game Bunny bought for them last summer.
ahh spring time!

and best of all…. Daddy comes home tomorrow!
spring break is this week, and with Jason out of town for a few days i decided to find some fun things for the boys and i to do to pass the time while he was gone. the morning Jason left i surprised the boys by taking them to Krispy Kreme…. they have never been and were SO EXCITED to see doughnuts being made and to get their very own Krispy Kreme hats. it doesnt take much to make these boys happy. they even got to use their free doughnut coupons Peyton got for Valentines Day. yes, mommy is a big spender!

after our exciting morning of eating (and watching) doughnuts, we took a ride to good ol’ downtown Grapevine. i know it doesnt sound exciting but I am telling you Peyton and Jayden LOVE to explore and see new things. we had a great time and found a great little cupcake place right on main street…. all of us were exhausted by the time we got home, and a little high on sugar. exhaustedly high? is that possible?

not a bad start to an unplanned staycation week!
